Missing

Dear Baby,

This was going to be a place full of posts about you, pictures of you, and tales about your wonderful life as part of our little family (and your adventures as a sibling to your crazy sister Piper!).  That wasn't meant to be, and sadly we only have a few precious photos and a few special weeks to write about.  But we want to remember those moments, because we love you so much and are so grateful that we got to meet you.

You were only with us for 10 weeks, but in that time we learned a few things about you.  We learned that you're strong - a fighter.   We got to see you a few times and watch you grow - your heart beating and your arms and legs starting to form - you amazed us.  We figured out that you dislike sweets and favor spicy foods.  You seemed to prefer morning to nights.

You certainly were a wonderful surprise.  Finding out about you is one of the happiest days of our lives, and one of the best phone calls we'll ever receive.

But now you're where you were always meant to be, and we're here missing you, desperate to have kept you.  You'll always be an unforgotten piece of our family.  Thank you for trying so hard to stay with us.  You honored us with your presence, and though we wish we could have seen your beautiful story play out over decades we know that we'll treasure that which we were given.  We forever love you and hold you in our hearts.

Thank you, Baby, for those 10 weeks.

Always,
Your Mom and Dad
